It is my pleasure to welcome you to my official website. On this page you can find all the necessary information about my background and experience in the field of vascular surgery and specifically dialysis access.
I am a board certified Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon. I was born in Yerevan, Armenia. After graduating from Yerevan State Medical University I moved to Cologne, Germany, where I have received my Vascular Surgery training. In September 2017 I took over as Head of Vascular Access Center in Hamburg, Germany, and during >7 years I have performed >4000 broad kind of open and endovascular Vascular Access procedures, including most of the available innovative devices and techniques for creating and preserving the Vascular Accesses. As the first surgeon worldwide I have adapted both endovascular AV-Fistula (endoAVF) creation procedures, and have the most experience with those in Europe and am one of the most experienced in the world. Additionally, I serve as the Scientific Advisory Board member of Venova medical, a company which has developed the 2nd generation endoAVF System (Velocity), performing first cases of FIH-study in 2023. Moreover, I have the most extensive experience with the anastomotic external support device for AV-Fistula creation.
During my career as dedicated Vascular Access Surgeon and Interventionist I was able to publish several important peer-reviewed publications on Vascular Access, including those on both endovascular and surgical AV-fistulae. I have been a faculty member on several international congresses, peer-reviewed many publications and am a writing commitee member of ESVS-Guidelines on Vascular Access since 2023. I speak fluently English, German, Armenian and Russian languages.
In 2025 I have co-founded and am the Head of the first and only exclusive outpatient private practice "Vascular Access Medicine" in Hamburg, Germany at Petridis Vascular Institute. Here, we offer
